Pittsburgh
Penguins: Johnny’s favorite team. Although Super Mario
is now in the owner's box, the team has superstars Sidney Crosby and
Evgeni Malkin, who lead the team to the Stanley Cup finals in 2008, losing to Detroit,
and coming back in 2009 to take it all in an exciting game 7 final
|
 |
Anaheim Ducks:
Their Stanley Cup success is in the past, Pronger is gone, and they're a
cup long shot
|
 |
Detroit
Red Wings: Teri's team. Slow and steady forward momentum paid off in 2008 as the
Red Wings marched inexorably to their 4th Stanley Cup in 11 years,
dispatching Nashville, Colorado and Dallas on route to a six-game triumph
over Pittsburgh
|
 |
San Jose Sharks:
Dick's and Tim's favorite. Always a Stanley Cup favorite at the start of
the season, they've juggled the line-up (and the sweater letters) after a
President's Cup triumph was followed by a first round upset in 2009
|
 |
Colorado
Avalanche: Mikie's favorite. They face a long, hard road back to
respectability after ending the 2008-09 season at the bottom of the
conference
|
| |
Fresno
Falcons: Our home team became part of the expanded
ECHL in 2002. In 2008-09 they were leading their division when the owners
shut down operations due to four years of financial losses. The web site
is also shut down, but we're saving this space and hoping for a return in
the future
