Pittsburgh
Penguins: Johnny’s favorite team. Although Super Mario
is now in the owner's box, the team has superstars Sidney Crosby and
Evgeni Malkin, who lead the team to the Stanley Cup finals in 2008, losing
out to Detroit in six games.
|
 |
Anaheim Ducks:
Now two years removed from their Stanley Cup success, and gone in the
first round in 2008, it's time for a gut check.
|
 |
Detroit
Red Wings: Teri's team. Slow and steady forward momentum paid off as the
Red Wings marched inexorably to their 4th Stanley Cup in 11 years,
dispatching Nashville, Colorado and Dallas on route to a six-game triumph
over Pittsburgh.
|
 |
San Jose Sharks:
Dick's and Tim's favorite. Always a Stanley Cup favorite at the start of
the season, they've bought into new coach Todd McLellan's system and
become the best team in the league.
|
 |
Colorado
Avalanche: Mikie's favorite. The return of Adam Foote and Peter Forsberg
helped spark the Avs to a playoff spot. They pulled off a first round win
over higher ranked Minnesota, only to be swept by eventual champions
Detroit in the semi-finals.

Fresno
Falcons: Our home team became part of the expanded
ECHL in 2002. In 2008-09 they were leading their division when the owners
shut down operations due to four years of financial losses. The web site
is also shut down, but we're saving this space and hoping for a return in
the future.
