Most of the graphics on pages 8 and up were geoPaint files downloaded from Q-Link, a Commodore-specific on-line service that flourished in the 1980s and early '90s. Some of these were hand-drawn, others were converted from MacPaint. A few of them come from disks distributed by individuals and organizations. The geoPaint files were converted from the proprietary GEOS USR format to Commodore SEQ format using a GEOS utility, Convert. They were then transferred to PC compatible format using Big Blue Reader, and finally changed to PC bitmap files using a small program called CBM2BMP, which nicely changes almost any Commodore graphic to a bitmap. --Dick Estel, August 2008 Click on the image to see a larger view |
